This
hand-crafted loom was created specifically for designing and
beading hatbands (and narrow belts), working from the center
outward.
The loom flips from end to end, as shown below so that the beading is
always growing out from the center. The length of your beadwork can be
easily determined because you can stop or continue at both ends to the
length you choose, and even change your mind as you go. I have added a
magnet on both sides, so you always have a convenient place to
rest your needles. With this loom is is easy to adapt your
patterns to different seed beads sizes. You can use
a beading pattern, or with experience just start in the middle and
design as you go.
This loom
is
made with the 4 Sacred Medicines embedded in the frame,
and 4 Strand hand-braided tension ties. It is made with the same care,
intentions, and materials as described on the Looms Home Page.
This loom is
16" long. The Capacity
of this loom is 2.5" x 38" using the tension rod
inside the uprights as shown in the photo at left. The loom may also be
used as an ordinary loom for a continuous pattern with the
second WIDE
tension rod, in which case the capacity increases to 4" x 38".
You
can use
the Wide Warping technique
or
a simple Wrap & Tie method.
